Zamzar
The other day, I caught word of a service called Zamzar. It is a free file conversion service, when I read the list of file conversions, I was really impressed. I have yet to try it out. I have asked the team if how their PDF to doc/txt conversion, and unfortunately, it is fully automatic. I contacted them in thinking about what I do at the Access Technology Lab, but the material there is quite valuable for the students who uses the service we provide, so I don’t quite feel comfortable using that service and calling it good. The process of me looking over a Zamzar document versus doing it all in-house would take just as long.
However, I will probably let it convert some of my music to mp3 once I dig through my library and find the non-mp3s. For a while I was using iTunes for that.
