Power Fun
As many here in Washington may know, we had a wind storm Thursday night. Not bad to be welcomed home to, eh?
I thought we were going to make it without loosing the power, well we almost did. The lights flickered occasionally from 5 onward. Several times it dipped quite low, and thought that it was going to just go out. Finally around 11 my mom got up to head to bed, and almost as soon as this happened it went out. Having nothing else to do, and it was pitch black in the house, I figured I might as well go to bed also.
I took a quick peek to see what a mess it was outside, and I was shocked at what I saw, It was fairly bright out considering the time. The sky was clear as could be and the moon was full. You wouldn’t believe there were 20-40 mph winds outside.
Friday, I woke up to no power. I just read and napped all day. During one of my naps, I woke up to this ticking noise. I first thought it was our annoying clock that I usually can block out, nope that wasn’t it. So when I was about to roll off the couch to investigate, I noticed our living room light was on. Lo and behold we had power back, only loosing it for 15 hours.
My mother’s boyfriend isn’t that lucky, he lost it either late Wednesday or sometime Thursday afternoon, and he still hasn’t had his power restored, but fortunately he has a huge generator that can power like 90% of his house for 8 hours on one tank of gas.
